Poem For Scott Stapp
Dear Scott,
Hi! I was so glad to hear about that you are going to do an acoustic solo tour. I think you are very talented and it really shows when you do an acoustic show and don't have a studio sound.
I appreciate that you and your wife Jackie are so committed to charities. I am glad that you are doing a show for the people affected by the Gulf Oil Crisis.
I wrote a poem for you and about you. I hope that you will enjoy it. It is called Behind The Shadows.
Behind The Shadows
By Julie Roark
There he was alone and unaware, in shadows of light and shadows of darkness. Would his life have some deep purpose? Would he find the realization of his dreams and keep reaching for the stars?
Yes, his life would have turmoil, beset with fears, anxieties, and worries. He would have ups and downs in his life that would be like being on an emotional rollercoaster. Through it all, he would have tests of his faith and be torn between his faith and his need to believe in someone greater than himself. Would his life have a purpose? Would his life have meaning? Yes, it would. He would find the answers were up above, in a place called heaven.
In the end of his journey to figure out what he believed in, he became a music star, humbled by life, loved by many, more importantly by a loving family who at the end would make his journey worth everything in life he had endured. At the end of the journey, he learned to love himself and to know that God, the most powerful being in the universe had loved him all along. Then he was able to find the light behind the shadows.
I hope that you liked this poem. To me, it was a compilation of things that have happened in your life.
Julie

Great poem. I like "humbled by life, loved by many." That's what I like about Scott; he has made no excuses bur rather faced his past head on - looking at it in the eye. I can dig that. And what you say "he learned to love himself and to know that God had loved him all along." That is true.
I am certain that he is a much stronger man today than he ever was, and that his character has been grown. I can't wait to receive the music that he will bring to us over the years. Anyone can point fingers at another, but it takes real balls to look ourselves and change. Like you said, "he was able to find the light behind the shadows." Very well put!

Very nice......... Just one thing but not anything negative, sounds more like a story to me. I truly love this, seems you've put a lot of thought into it as well as time. Thank You for sharing, God has Blessed You & I'm sure Stapp would love this.
I cry out to God seeking only His decision. -

I have a poem as well:
The Bird I See
The Bird I see is in pain.
He has been very blue for so long.
The Bird is a red parrot who usually brightens people’s day.
The parrot sometimes can’t let go of the past.
He has been repeating his problems to numerous birds for so long now.
Many birds have flown away from him because of his problems.
Maybe they’ll reunite or maybe they won’t.
However, the bird wants to fly happily again.
Living and worrying about his past
Is holding him back from living happy and he is not sure if he’s being played with.
But the bird always goes back for more.
Hopefully, this time around the bird will get his answer once and for all.
Till then the bird will not worry and let fate decide.
The bird just wants to just fly freely again.
