Review of first show on 2011 accoustic tour
I live in South Dakota so when I want to see a good concert, I have to travel.
When I found out Scott Stapp was doing a show 7 hours away in Walker, MN - I decided it was worth the trip.
At the show this past Saturday, Scott played 55 min, and did not do an encore. He also had very little audience interaction, aside from singing one audience member happy birthday, he tore through his dozen or so songs and left the stage.
I feel extremely ripped off to have driven this far to get 1 hour of ripping through the hits... not interacting with the audience, playing a descent length show, or even doing an encore... despite a standing ovation asking for one.
So I would warn anyone who hasn't purchased tickets yet to be wary if this is any indication of the rest of his shows on the tour.
His voice was good, he seemed to put emotion into the songs... but there was no stories, no talks of song origins... his friends every now and then playing guitar on stage would encourage the audience with "are you having a good time"... because stapp would just be eager to start the next song.
As a long time creed, and stapp solo artist fan who has waited years to see them near South Dakota, I have met that need and will never need to see him again given this horribly short unremarkable show.
He has more than enough material to play 2 hours as any good act does these days, especially when it is a solo show and cover songs are usually done as well as story telling, but no... he put in his minimum contracted time if that and left.

Despite the mediocre show, did get some good pictures:
