Scott's Voice

Tue, Dec 8, 2009 at 9:09 AM By: z3r0

I'm a huge Creed fan and concerned about Scott's voice. If you listen recent live performances of classic songs like "What If", "Say I" etc... compared to recent live performances it sounds like Scott's voice is gone or lost something.

Are there any updates from the band regarding his voice? Maybe he needs rest or some treatment/voice exercises to get it healthy again.

those STRIPPED performances are incredible, especially OVERCOME!

there is so much more to a show than pure performance, though. no one has the passion that scott has!

that's because a heavy dose of post-production pitch correction has been applied to those recordings. it's obvious if you are familiar with the technology. i work in a studio and we do it all the time with artists who come in. the main reason we do it is to save time (and therefore money) for the artists who are paying for the studio time. they run through a vocal 2 or 3 times and we clean it up, rather than spending days working with the artist to record a perfect vocal. if you are familiar with the artist t-pain, his "robot voice" technique is basically what i'm talking about, albeit to a much more extreme degree.

but i digress... scott is obviously working through some issues with his voice. i think he still sounds pretty good but he has trouble holding notes on pitch, whereas in the past this wasn't a problem for him. i think it might be from years of vocal wear and tear as he always had a very resonant growl. voices change just as our bodies do as they age. many artists adapt to it and i'm confident scott will do the same. he's an incredible talent.

I am a fan who is also concerned abouts Scotts voice. I had the same problem like Scott about a year ago and the Doctors explanation for the problem is that I used my voice to much on singing thus calluses formed on my voice box causing me not to reach the notes which I was able to do in the past. I went to some sort of voice recovery treatment and the result was good.

I know Scott knew the problem and I am sure he will do the necessary action to provide us, his fans more rocking experience!!!!

I am praying for him and his family and Godbless him more!

    Remember Guys.!

The beauty is with in the whole performance and not with the voice alone......

    SCOTT RULES!!!!
