If you belong to a religious organization, are a leader in a church, or service group, or would just like to minister to the homeless in central Arkansas, then listen up!

The Night on the Street is a fund-raiser hosted by the Union Rescue Mission in Little Rock, AR. The 2010 event will be held on Thursday, March 11 in the River Market Pavilion in downtown Little Rock from 5:00 p.m. to midnight.

People everywhere take for granted the blessings of their homes when so many don't have anywhere to call home. In Arkansas alone, there are 35,000+ homeless individuals. Some people, the only thing they may have is a cardboard box under a bridge that they call their home each night throughout the year. Granted some choose this lifestyle, but the majority did not have a choice. Their circumstances have left them on the streets.

That's why we're going out to the streets! Night on the streets is an opportunity for us to minister to those less fortunate. Those counted the least, the last, and the lost in the world. We'll be staying in boxes in the River Market from 5 to midnight and going out handing out blankets, hats, gloves and coffee to those homeless that live there.

The Union Rescue Mission's goal for this year is to raise at least $75,000.

My goal for this year is $2,000 of the overall goal.

If you can help in any way, please contact me. Also, if you are a part of an organization or anything that needs community service hours, this will count 8 hours for each person participating in your group.
